The PSI-MedConnect System™ is intended to be used by prescribers. The PSI-MedConnect System™ gives immediate feedback to a doctor or nurse as to whether a prescription is carried on the patient's health plan formulary and if there is a more cost-effective equivalent. It can automatically send the prescription to any local, mail order or Internet pharmacy. And because it uses current claims adjudication data, the PSI-MedConnect System™can display a rolling 12-month (or longer) history of prescriptions for a
patient.
When a prescription renewal is requested or is due, the system notifies the prescriber that action is required. The PSI-MedConnect System™ also allows electronic messages to flow between prescribers, pharmacies, administrators, carriers and pharmaceutical companies (as
appropriate).
PSI-MedConnect System™ provides on-line access to health plan specific formularies, dosing strategy and interchange recommendations. By using retrospective prescription claims adjudication information, the PSI-MedConnect System™ also provides historical patient medication profiles, compliance, utilization information and electronic prescription renewal capabilities. In addition, prescriber and medical group per member per month (PMPM) costs can be calculated and monitored in real time.
