The PSI-MedConnect System™ is Improved Prescribing

Electronic prescribing - Prescriptions are written using a hand-held or desktop unit and electronically sent to a pharmacy or local printer of choice. An optional hard copy can be provided to the patient.

Health plan/medical group preferred formularies - Current formularies from the various HMOs/PBMs are available to prescribers through the PSI-MedConnect System™. When the patient's name and health plan is entered into the system, the appropriate formulary and preferred drug information related to that patient is made available to the prescriber. Optionally, specific medical group formularies may be used in addition to, or in lieu of the health plan/PBM formulary.

Therapeutic interchange - Information on therapeutic interchange or HMO/PBM/Medical Group preferred drugs are communicated to the prescriber via the PSI-MedConnect System™. The prescriber has the ability to follow the suggested interchange or override it.

Automated renewals - The PSI-MedConnect System™ has a sophisticated Rx renewal process. Renewals are electronically communicated between the pharmacy and the prescriber. This process saves precious time while increasing accuracy and compliance.

Auto detects and redirects Rxs to mail-order or pharmacy of choice - Prescriptions are electronically transmitted to the health plan, mail-order or retail pharmacy of choice.

Interaction check - Drug/drug, drug/allergy, duplicate therapy - Interaction checks are performed by the PSI-MedConnect System™ prior to transmission of the Rx. The interaction check may be adjusted (upon request) to report only mild, moderate or severe … or all three levels of interaction.
